Futuristic Manalism
A bold plum lip to steal the show

For the 25th Anniversary Parkchoonmoo Show, designer Demi Park was inspired to return to her core design. Using different iconic shapes from her 25 years of work. Park has reconstructed her definition of fashion and presented a futuristic minimalist collection with every piece taking a deeper exploration into design form and function.

The Fall/Winter 2014 Parkchoonmoo collection was an exercise in contrasts, and Clinique Global Colour Artist, Jenna Menard, emphasized the message through her makeup creation. Menard began with a soft, matte foundation, juxtaposed with slight contouring under the cheek, and a glossy texture added to an otherwise bare eye. The deep plum lip was the main focus of the makeup look. To reinforce the message of contrasts, Menard kept the top lip matte, while adding a gloss to the bottom lip, visually disrupting the status-quo while also creating more depth and dimension to the makeup overall.

Jenna Menard explains how to get the look using clinique:

FACE

Even Better Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15
Stay Matte Sheer Pressed Powder
Almost Powder Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15

The skin should be flawless, matte and smooth. To achieve the desired porcelain finish, use a foundation shade one shade lighter than the natural skin tone. Dab and blend foundation with a brush and top with powder for a matte finish. For subtle contour and definition that retains the porcelain finish of the foundation, apply a powder makeup just below the cheekbone using a tapered brush.

EYES

All About Eyes, using the tip of a finger, generously apply gel/cream on the upper lid of the eye to add an invisible texture to the look. When the light hits the dewy finish of the moisturizer, a subtle shimmer effect is created which is noticeable, but difficult to identify. Keep lashes and brows natural to avoid overwhelming the overall look.

LIPS

NEW Long Lasting Lipstick in Matte Plum
Quickliner for Lips in Plummy
Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss

The intense plum lip is created using Cliniques NEW Long Last Lipstick, available in September 2014, in Matte Plum all over the lip. The lips are lined with quickliner for Lips in Plummy, which is blended for a deeper and richer effect. Instead of defining the lip, by gradually blending the liner and lipstick, the overall shade deepens. Finally, apply Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss to the lower lip to add more texture and dimension to the shape of the bottom lip, making lips appear fuller and plumper, complimenting the dewiness of the eye, and creating another contrast with the matte finish of the face.
